One of the things I have associated with "fear of the Lord" is fearing to offend Him because He loves us. We don't ever want to hurt anyone we love, and if we truly love God with our heart, mind, body, and soul, we would be fearful (reluctant) to offend Him.
Thank you for the perspective and the read!
Good read. The issue can also be viewed as "everyone has their own truth" so truth for you may not be truth for me, and the clash comes when the world has to figure out whose truth trumps all the rest.
Thank you for taking the time to read and respond to this! I have had some good feedback from it. The really amazing thing is that I was reluctant to publish it, but God had other ideas for me. I hope it helps others see some very stark differences between the Church that St.Pio grew up in and the faith he practiced, and the Church of our times and the faith that has sadly diminished. God bless you!
God inspired me to take the time to read this, and in spite of a hectic day, I acted on the inspiration. No words to say how glad I was to follow through. Definitely a read I needed! Thanks!
I wrote a piece on this topic a few years ago after listening to (then) Fr. Barron give a talk through the "Word on Fire" series. I need to revisit this because this is a powerful way of living. Thanks for the read! (Merry Christmas, too)!
