Get it. When I started reading this article, I was skeptical because I like my daily list. I use mine, though, to help me develop the habits I want to hone. I saw a "Great Signature Classics" program called "Outsmart Yourself", and one of the programs suggested "adding a new activity each month". This was basically to keep the brain facile, and while adding something small each month while keeping the previous moth going might seem overwhelming, it hasn't been.

My goal is (as with most creative types, of which I am trying to figure out if I truly am one), was to develop those habits that build on how I want myself to be. So far here I am:

January: write and publish twice a week

February: January +read 30 minutes each day on a topic I want to write and publish

March: Jan/Feb +cut down on wine by committing to saying a Rosary before I have any

April: Jan/Feb/Mar +add intermittent fasting three times a week (prepping for increased exercise)

May: Jan/Feb/Mar/Ap +walk a mile each day

Of these things, I have been most consistent with Feb/Mar/Ap activities. The writing has been very sporadic, even though it is the most important task I want to accomplish.

I am reflecting on why this is such a struggle. My first thought is that I find it difficult to write with extraneous noise, so perhaps I need to add for June to either stay up when the whole house goes down for the evening, or get up before the dawn when everyone is still asleep.

Thanks for your points to ponder! Appreciate it!
