I have pretty much dumped all these "gurus" be they in finance, personal development, personal wellness.....

It is spot on that these experts are preying on an ignorant audience; really, an audience who is not interested in putting in the work to receive the desired outcome. They would much rather spend $20+ to invest in a book rather take a cold look at their circumstances and create a plan of their own. No two people are alike in every aspect; it cannot be expected that a "cookie cutter" approach to financial security will work for everyone.
