If You are Willing
Because I am not able to do this myself
We can spend our entire life slogging through day-to-day drudgery and just wonder what life would be like “if”.
“If I just could have ____________ (fill in the blank), I will spend my time doing __________ (fill in the blank).
If all these people would _____________ (fill in the blank), I will be able to ______________(fill in the blank).
The problem with that little word is it appears to be conditioned on someone or something else doing something so that everything falls neatly into place for us and our lives. All of which makes it easy to delude ourselves into believing that a situation (or our life) is not under our control. The reality is that in almost all cases, it is not the “if” but the “will” that is the issue.
How do we approach overcoming the tiny word in order to accomplish even the mundane tasks we do every day?
Take, for instance, getting up in the morning. At one point in my life, I was awake and moving around by 5 am. It was great. Quiet time for prayer and meditation, ticking some of the “do’s” off the to-do list. The uninterrupted times when daily noises have yet to begin interfering with what I believe I need to do.
