In 100 years or less no one will remember who Madonna was. The entertainment industry is rife with personalities little remembered now they are long gone.
Is Madonna a true talent and artist? I doubt it. She is clever, though, and perhaps her greatest strength is an ability to capitalize on sensationalism to keep herself relevant as she ages, and when she is criticized for what she does she is somehow the victim of sexism or ageism. No accountability on her part.
Yet she still has recognition status. It is too bad that she stoops to publicity stunts and shock value (the Vanity Fair cover where she mocks the Blessed Virgin Mary) in order to call attention to herself.
The trouble is she doesn't mind that unless the public hits a nerve and calls her out on it.
Thanks for the read.
