Interesting perspective. Where or what then is the cause of the suffering? Humans make choices (free will). Humans choose to act toward others in charity, benevolence, or good will; or choose to act in ways that cause others suffering, pain, or death.
I understand and accept your thoughts to reduce suffering for those around you, but that is a choice you make and it is laudable. There are those, however, who have no desire to act in ways that reduce suffering. They make choices to harm others personally or in society at large.
Living in Portland, Oregon this past year, I have seen the results of those who choose to act in ways that harm individuals physically and emotionally. They have also chosen to harm our community with wanton destruction of personal property.
The suffering you speak of comes from somewhere; whether you call it evil or lack of good will, it does exist. Might as well call it what it is.
