My memory has been exceptional all my life simply because I have unconsciously made the very connections you mentioned in the article. It has been a standing joke that whenever my spouse wants to remember the last time we went to, say, Lake Tahoe with our friends, I can give him not only the month and year, but what the weather was like, who drove us to the airport, etc....
